My Chicago connection:
Chicago is the best city in the nation. It has all the benefits of a major urban area with the charm of the Midwest. We have the beauty of Lake Michigan and the depth of great diversity. Plus, you can still get a house with a yard 20 mins. from the Loop.
My family:
My husband and I have been married 6 years and have three children, all 20 months apart: two boys and new baby girl. We're enjoying the crazed joy of parenthood and three babies in just over three years. We think we even want another one!
My life before baby:
Before BabyZone, I worked in education. I started out volunteering with children in Mexico, worked as a bilingual teacher's assistant in California and then came back home to the Midwest settling here in Chicago to teach high school.
My life in the BabyZone:
Being a parent is the best job I've had so far, but also one of the hardest. I'm lucky to have great group of other mamas for support. And I try to enjoy each crazy, funny moment with my little monkeys. Before I know it, they'll be grown and gone!
My hobbies and passions:
I run, mostly long distances since the acheivement is in finishing and I'm too slow to ever win a race. I also love reading, mostly novels. Some favorites include "Life of Pi", "Franny & Zoe" and of course Harry Potter!
My best parenting tip: "You are not responsible for making your children make the right choices, only that you give them the opportunity and ability to make them." .
